Weekly Update: Week 31

This week brought some new milestones for Gavin and me. As you may have read in my last post, we decided to venture into Seattle for the Seahawks parade. Of course it was a bazillion-below zero (about 25 degrees) so we had to bundle up in order to not freeze our cute asses off. I decided to wear leggings under my jeans, which turned out to be quite the challenge. Gavin had to help me not only put the jeans over my leggings, but also pull on my socks and then tie my shoes. I felt ridiculous but Gavin thought it was hilarious -we joked about it being good practice for him later dressing our daughter.

The rest of the week was pretty chill. Gavin had 2 days off -something that hasn't happened since Christmas- and we were able to spend all day Wednesday together. Friday did get a little crazy when we decided to bust out the game Battleship. We're both very competitive, which made the game pretty fun. the smack talk was at an all-time high for sure. As Gavin said that night after he lost the first round "I may have lost the battle, but I haven't lost the war!" He went on to crush me in the next 2 rounds, effectively winning our Battleship game night.

Now for the Week 31 update!

Bump view from both sides.
  • Baby Girl's size: a pineapple or 4 navel oranges
  • Baby Girl's weight: 3-3.5 lbs.
  • Cravings: Chocolate -cake, candy, ice cream. I want it all.
  • Best part: I have a great boyfriend who doesn't mind going to the store at 10pm to get chocolate cake!
  • Worst part: It's getting hard to put on socks and tie my shoes. And the stretch marks have appeared.
  • Her development: She's gaining weight and filling out; her skin is less red and more pink; her irises can dilate and she can sense changes in light.
  • My development: A lot of growing and stretching as my body prepares for having and feeding a baby.
